The family business first started on the Falun farm as Derek learned the trade of sowing seeds, harvesting crop and working in every type of weather Alberta can throw at a farmer. Derek's mother Maureen then joined her sister-in-law Elona to open Backstreet Antiques which has become THE destination for antiques, thoughtful gifts and the ideal shopping destination at Pigeon Lake for locals and visitors. We now see the family drive continuing with Derek and Tessa who have built up successful independent businesses in the same area as multiple Tabler generations before them.
